Methane Accounting Program wins Environmental Award

The Sniffers is pleased to announce that its Methane Accounting Program has received the Energy Institute Environment Award 2020. After being shortlisted in the category ‘Environment’ together with two submissions of oil & gas major Saudi Aramco, The Sniffers came out as winner during the virtual award show, which was held on Thursday 26 November.

According to The Sniffers´ CEO, Bart Wauterickx, who accepted the prize during the online award show, “it is reassuring that energy leaders and the jury see the importance of a dedicated source-based approach to identify, quantify, and reduce methane emissions. This award represents our team´s relentless work to help our clients with managing their methane emissions to the atmosphere. We want to thank the Energy Institute for this recognition, and we look forward to helping more oil & gas players with our Methane Accounting Program, especially with the recently published Methane Strategy by the European Commission.”

The Sniffers´ Methane Accounting Program helps clients with minimizing methane emissions by identifying, and quantifying emissions, and defining improvement actions. The program delivers up to 70% reduction of methane emissions in one year using a source-based methodology with fit-for-purpose technologies.
