On December 23, 2020, the US EPA announced the agency’s final decision to retain the existing National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for ozone set by the Obama-Biden Administration without changes. The decision to retain the existing standard, set by the Obama-Biden Administration, was completed within the congressionally mandated five-year timeframe. The final action was published in the Federal Register and became effective on December 31, 2020.
