Dow to Source Pyrolysis Oil from Recycled Plastic

Dow Chemical has reached arrangement with Fuenix Ecogy Group, a Netherlands-based company, to supply pyrolysis oil feedstock made from recycled plastic waste. The feedstock will be used to produce new polymers at Dow’s production facilities at Terneuzen, Netherlands.
Fuenix Ecogy’s pyrolysis process takes mixed plastic waste streams and converts them to feedstock for repolymerization.

This agreement is an important step toward increased feedstock recycling. The polymers produced from this pyrolysis oil will be identical to products produced from traditional feedstocks, therefore can be used in the same applications, such as food packaging.
The agreement contributes to Dow’s commitment to incorporate at least 100,000 tonnes of recycled plastics into its product offerings in Europe by 2025.
