Empowering Women in Industry will be hosting an awards gala to close the one-day conference on September 26th, 2019 at the Chicago Athletic Hotel.
The event will honor eleven inspiring women at the gala in the following categories; Saleswoman of the Year, Marketer of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Leadership in Stem, Tradeswoman of the Year, Leadership in Reliability & Operations, Leadership in Manufacturing, Engineer of the Year, Industry Advocacy, Innovator of the Year, and Emerging Leader of the Year.
“Putting a spotlight on the empowering women in industry that are helping lead the way is one of the special opportunities we are fortunate to be able to do at our event” said committee member, Rebekah Mechtensimer in a press release. The awards gala established to recognize accomplished women in the industry and to inspire other women on what they can do in male-dominated fields.
At the gala, committee member, Eileen O’Neill will act as Emcee. O’Neill is Executive Director of the Water Environment Federation (WEF). “It’s important that women, especially those of us working in technical fields, support each other and that’s why I’m so energized by the Empowering Women in Industry initiative. The level of accomplishment and diversity of careers of our award nominees is truly impressive. What a huge honor to be asked to play a role in recognizing these remarkable women and I look forward to meeting them in person,” she stated.
