Eni has been recognized for its commitment to reporting emissions. They have been rated “Gold Standard” for the highest levels of data quality by the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0). The “Gold Standard” award reflects Eni’s methane strategy. It also reflects its collaboration with other industry players and international organizations committed to emissions control throughout the value chain.
OGMP 2.0 is an initiative led by the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It sets a global benchmark for the reliability and transparency of methane emissions reporting in the oil and gas sector.
Eni joined OGMP 2.0 in 2020 as part of its ongoing commitment to establish emissions reduction targets and progressively increase the transparency and accuracy of its reporting, which are prerequisites for measuring the effectiveness of mitigation actions.
