IMI has won a contract with Polytec Energy Srl to supply a 1MW PEM electrolyser for its H2_Polytec Project in Storo, Italy.
The project was among the winners of the call issued by the Autonomous Province of Trento. The call was for the construction of a green hydrogen production plant in disused industrial areas. This is part of Mission 2 ‘Green Revolution and Ecological Transition’ of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Promoted by Polytec Energy Srl and its parent company Polytec Spa, IMI’s electrolyser will be used to trial green hydrogen production techniques. The unit will be powered by a dedicated renewable supply of photovoltaic systems at a total installed capacity of 4.4MWp.
The hydrogen produced will be used at industrial sites across the Storo region, specifically the Ex-Paisoli area. End users will use it for painting and drying processes and metalworking furnaces.
