South Korea & Finnish Posiva Collaborate on Waste Mgmt

The Korea Radioactive Waste Agency (KORAD) and the Finnish waste management company Posiva have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to exchange technology and related knowledge on the proper disposal of high-level radioactive wastes.The MoU was signed in Helsinki by KORAD CEO Sung-soo Cha, Posiva President Janna Mokka and Posiva Solutions Oy Managing Director Mika Pohjonen.With this agreement, KORAD and Posiva will share information and experience on the disposal of high-level waste, as well as hold joint meetings and lead further research into the issue.KORAD is a government organization established in January 2009 as part of South Korea's national agency for radioactive waste management.
