ERA Offers $50 Million for New Natural Gas Tech

Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) has launched new funding program for the development of technologies that reduce the footprint of natural gas production.

The Natural Gas Challenge has a total expenditure CAD $50 million, in which ERA will match private investments up to CAD $10 million per project and up to 50% of total project costs.

The ERA is looking for technologies that are at least ready to field pilot in areas such as: new natural gas production and processing systems; addressing leaks and fugitive emissions; alternatives to flaring and venting; renewable/synthetic natural gas production; innovation for transportation of natural gas; technology for natural gas-fueled transportation and mobility; and conversion to value-added products.

Submissions will be accepted between November 4 and December 19, 2019.
