A new report, “Capture for Growth,” by Zero Carbon Humber, UK, is a roadmap for the world’s first zero carbon industrial cluster focused on protecting and creating jobs, fighting climate change, and competing on the world stage.
The report considers the role CCUS and hydrogen could play in decarbonizing the Humber industrial cluster, as well as quantifying some of the associated co-benefits. It is published under the ‘Zero Carbon Humber’ banner, and is supported by Drax, Equinor, National Grid Ventures, the Humber LEP and CATCH.
In 2019, the Zero Carbon Humber partnership was established by a group of leading energy businesses and organisations committed to transforming the region into the UK’s first ‘net zero’ carbon industrial cluster by 2040. This report sets out a roadmap for achieving this through the use of carbon capture and storage technology and hydrogen.
